JACKSON — The Jackson Police Department announced over social media on Wednesday that there will be no access from Highway 60 to or from the north side of Eagle Drive due to work on the northern section of the new roundabout starting on Friday.

According to the department’s Facebook page, eastbound traffic on Highway 60 will still be open, but there will be no driving west on any part of Highway 60 from Maple Road to Highway P. However, vehicles will still be able to access the southern portion of Eagle Drive from eastbound Highway 60.

The northern portion of Eagle Drive is still open to the East Side Mart and laundromat and China Kitchen, but citizens will have to use Georgetown Drive to get there. To get to Living Word Lutheran High School and Child Development Center people will have to take Georgetown Drive. The department also reminds motorists that the speed limit is still 25 mph in residential zones. The final completion date for this portion of the project is uncertain.
