SHEBOYGAN — After an outstanding showing on Day 2 of the Sheboygan North Invitational at Whistling Straits, the Oconomowoc boys golf team jumped up 17 spots in the team standings to finish fourth with a total of 619 strokes last Thursday.

The Raccoons shot an even par 288 as a team Thursday, which was the best score among the loaded 48-team field, after totaling 331 on Wednesday. Junior Aidan Parent was the ring leader of that turnaround, as he led the field with a 4-under 68 in the second round to wind up in a tie for 15th overall with a 150.

In fact, three of Ocon’s five golfers shot even par or better on Thursday, as both juniors Matthew Harkins and Drew Maglio carded 72s, while junior Jack Pilachowski shot 76. Overall, Maglio and Pilachowski each totaled a 156 to tie for 42nd individually, while junior JP Flannery had a 163.

Waukesha North won the invite with a 604, as North junior AJ Anderson earned medalist honors, shooting a 2under par 142.
