HARTLAND — Explore downtown Hartland this spring during the Hartland Business Improvement District’s first annual Masters Mini Golf Tournament, April 1-14. Players of all ages are encouraged to visit participating downtown businesses during the tournament to enjoy a few holes of mini golf, enter to win prizes, and discover new favorite downtown spots. A prize drawing party will be held on April 14 at Tabi’s/Lake Country from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Visit any of the participating businesses to receive a punch card, which will be punched/stamped at each hole played throughout downtown. After playing at nine holes, participants will be entered to win a high-value prize pack. Those who compete at least five holes will be entered to win a "Birdie" prize. Cards must be dropped off at the US Bank or Tabi’s/Lake Country by April 13 to be entered for prizes.

Each business is creating its own unique mini golf set up at its location, with the freedom to decorate the course however the business sees fit, as long as it uses the hole and flag with its hole number on it. Bridget Gibley, adult services librarian at the Hartland Public Library, said the library staff is excited to be involved in an event promoting exploring downtown Hartland. Gibley said staff will be setting up their mini golf course later this week.

"Because we wanted to give it a spin, we’re doing a fairytale theme," she said. The mini golf set up at the library will include a foam puzzle piece "turf" and a bookend to putt the golf ball through.

Tabi McBride of Tabi’s/Lake Country, who is on the BID marketing committee, said the idea for mini golf came up because the event will be during the time of the Masters, which is held April 11 through 14.

The grand prize is sponsored by the Hartland US Bank, and it features some great prizes for the golf enthusiasts, such as a Callaway golf bag, a clip-on and desk Bluetooth speaker, a cheese board set, a cooler and more golf gear. Other prizes include a $200 VISA gift card and a $50 certificate to Ravenrock Reiki • Pilates • Art.

"We wanted to do a promotion in the spring to bring some fun to downtown," the Hartland BID shared.

"Our hope is that people will have fun and maybe discover a new business in Hartland they didn’t know about!"
