George F. Collins

George F. Collins of West Bend, peacefully passed away on April 21, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 13, 1929, in Milwaukee to his late parents, Henry Collins and Rebecca (nee Belhumeur). He was united in marriage with Dorothy K. (nee Manor) on May 20, 1950, at St. Boniface Church in Milwaukee. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Keith (Cynthia I.) Collins and Bridget (Terry) Kuhlenbeck.

After graduating in 1947 from Boys Tech in Milwaukee, he was employed with Boehm Bindery where he was a book binder for 30 years. He continued his trade while employed at Hoppmann Printing before retiring at the age of 75. Because of George’s love for baseball at the age of 9, he found himself selling papers at Borchert Field, which he continued throughout his life, playing Triple A baseball at that same field. He coached softball teams to championships, passing the age of 60 years old, doing what he loved most. Aside from baseball, he loved to fish and golf, but George’s one true hobby was being with his family. He loved making his family members French pancakes, which his entire family loved, especially his grandchildren. George and Dorothy cherished 80 years together, and those 80 years were filled with romance.

George is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; two children, Keith (Cynthia I.) Collins and Bridget (Terry) Kuhlenbeck; grandchildren, Donny (Kasey-Jo), Jeremy (Erin), Tammie (Mike), Jody (Jennifer), Stephen (Deborah), Vanessa (Chad), Casey (Angela); great-grandchildren, Wesley, Victoria (Hector), Miranda, Wyatt, Noah, Bodie, Cooper, Nora, Ella, George, Justin, Chaz, Bailey, Gavin, Cora, Gage, Montgomery, and Reginald. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rebecca; his siblings, Virginia, Cyril, Thomas, and Miadora “Chub.â€
