Who is John Ditkof? From serving as a torpedoman in the Navy to graduating from WCTC’s welding program to becoming a commercial diver, he’s done it all. And he’s seen it all too. This globetrotting John-of-all-trades has visited every continent, took a dip in every ocean, and stepped foot in all 50 states. But some of his most exciting adventures have happened at the ends of the earth.

On June 22, 2022, John Ditkof captures footage of fur seals jumping out of the water while on board the ARSV Nathaniel B. Palmer in Antarctica.
On June 28, 2023, Ditkof emerges from the water after the initial inspection of the outfall and setup for the installation of a new section in Port of Red Dog Mine, Alaska.
On Dec. 7, 2021, Ditkof welds a 100-pound anode to a steel piling on a dock in Akutan, Alaska.
On Nov. 13, 2021, John Ditkof jets out the outfall pipe for a client in Sand Point, Alaska at a depth of 60 feet. He is visited by a sculpin, an aggressive, venomous fish that carries toxins in the spines on its head.
